Friends of Barnard Station and the Pocopson Township Historical Committee were included in the Chester County Planning Commission's Town Tours and Village Walks program. The theme for 2021 was "Journeying Toward Freedom".
Members of the Barnard family had been involved with abolition activity since the 18th century. Barnard Station and Longwood Progressive Meeting were two examples of involvement by Eusebius and Sarah Barnard and their family.
