Visit Barnard Station

In 2025, Barnard Station will be open for tours from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm on May 18, June 15, July 20, August 17, September 21 and October 19. The nearby Locust Grove Schoolhouse will be open at the same times. The Barnard Station Welcome Center is located in the rear of the building and has various displays about the Barnards. You can tour the first floor including the recently restored 1829 parlor.

In addition, there will be two special events hosted at Barnard Station in 2025.
1. Town Tours and Village Walks sponsored by the Chester County Planning Commission (download brochure). Part of this series of events will be held at the Pocopson Township campus on Thursday July 31st between 5:30 pm and 7:00 pm. Guided tours through parts of the township campus, including Barnard Station will be led by FOBS and the Pocopson Township Historical Committee. The event is open to the public and free of charge. 2. 84th annual Chester County Day House Tour. On Saturday October 4th, both Barnard Station and the Locust Grove Schoolhouse will be open for visitation. This annual event benefits the Chester County Hospital Foundation and tickets are required. More information can be found at Chester County Day.

Private Tours
If you have a group interested in a private tour, contact Barnard Station via email. Groups are limited to 20 people. There is no fee, but donations are appreciated.

Location
Barnard Station is located at 650 South Wawaset Road, West Chester, PA 19382 across from the rear entrance to the Chester County Pocopson Home. From the Rt 52 roundabout travel north and the house will be on the left. There is public parking to the rear of the house and in front of the Pocopson Township building.

There are walking trails open to the public from dawn until dusk. Visitors to the site will be able to walk among the conserved land, once farmed by the Barnard family, surrounding the historic house.
